About Greensource Professional Turf Management...

Greensource professional turf management was started in 2009 by Kenny Barnett.  Starting the company was a dream of his for many years.  "I went to Mississippi State University thinking I wanted to work in the golf course design industry, but I soon realized that doing that would not allow me to have a family.  I am a family type of guy, so I chose to study agronomy, or turf and soil sciences, instead so I could have the best of both worlds."

After working in retail sales selling lawn care chemicals and fertilization agents to other lawn care companies, Ken noticed there was a profound need for a company that could provide its own professional knowledge directly to its clients.  "I had guys coming into my store asking me all types of questions about what chemicals to use for their lawn care and pest control clients.  They even needed direction on how to apply the chemicals.  It was scary..I thought they were the professionals.  I was giving away my hard earned knowledge for free...and I hadn't even finished paying off my college loan yet!"  That was when Ken, with the help of his wife Michele, a nurse manager in the BayCare health system, decided to launch Greensource Professional Turf Management.  "I just want to provide really good quality lawn care and pest control for a fair price", Ken states, "and it is important to me to keep up my integrity while I serve my clients.  There just isn't enough of that in the service industry today.  Heck, there just isn't enough of that in the world in general!"

Ken and Michele, along with their three daughters, attend Lakeview Church or the "Come as you are" church as it is known to the locals.  "You know, just attending the church isn't what gives me my good old fashioned Christian values.  It is knowing who I am in Christ..what he did for me.  I want to serve my clients with that knowledge in my mind at all times and provide my service 'as unto the Lord'.  That is the only way to be really successful.  There is really something to be said for the 'golden rule', that is, 'Treat others the way you would want to be treated'.  I really try to run Greensource Turf that way, but more importantly, I try to live my life that way too."
